The Author

Sheikh Muhammad ibn 'Alawi al-Maliki al-Hasani (1944–2004) was one of the greatest Islamic scholars of the twentieth century, descendant of the Prophet ﷺ and eminent professor in Mecca. Renowned for his mastery of Islamic sciences — hadith, fiqh and Sufi spirituality — he trained thousands of students around the world and left considerable work, translated into many languages. His writings on spirituality and invocation are authoritative in the French-speaking Muslim world.
